Licensees may apply to their respective Industry Council to withdraw from industry membership under section 54 of the Real Estate Act. If approved, RECA will discontinue any ongoing proceedings related to the licensee’s conduct.
A withdrawal under section 54 results in a permanent lifetime ban from the industry. The withdrawal, along with the allegations that led to the investigation, will remain published on the RECA website indefinitely.
As of December 1, 2020, an Industry Council must reject a withdrawal application where allegations of fraud or criminal activity exist and warrant investigation.
